TERRA PRIME COFFEE

Strategic Growing & Sourcing Across Uganda
Uganda offers exceptional diversity in coffee profiles, and Terra Prime has built a growing and sourcing network that reflects this strength. We source across major Robusta and Arabica regions, selecting coffees based on altitude, microclimate, processing method, and buyer specification.
Our growing and sourcing model is not volume-driven alone—it is specification-driven. Whether the requirement is commercial-grade consistency or specialty-grade traceability,
we structure procurement to meet defined parameters, not assumptions.
Why This Matters to Professional Buyers
Our deep understanding of Uganda’s varietals, regions, and processing realities allows Terra Prime to speak the same technical language as traders and roasters. We do not generalize origin—we specify it. This precision enables buyers to plan blends, manage risk, and maintain consistency across seasons.

Uganda as a Coffee Origin
Uganda is one of Africa’s most strategically important coffee-producing countries, offering both world-class Robusta and increasingly respected high-altitude Arabica. Its equatorial climate, bimodal rainfall patterns, and volcanic soils create ideal growing conditions across multiple elevations and microclimates.
Terra Prime operates across Uganda’s principal coffee regions, allowing us to supply consistent commercial volumes while also isolating differentiated lots that meet specialty and premium commercial specifications.
Ugandan Coffee Varietals We Work With
Robusta Varietals (Coffea canephora)
Uganda is globally recognized for producing some of the highest-quality natural Robusta in the world. Terra Prime works extensively with:
-
Nganda – Indigenous to central Uganda, known for body, crema formation, and low acidity
-
Erecta – Favored for uniform bean size and higher yield stability
-
Clonal Robusta (KR & elite clones) – Improved disease resistance, higher cup cleanliness, and consistency
Typical Robusta Cup Profile:
Heavy body, cocoa, malt, cedar, low acidity, clean finish when properly processed.
These coffees are ideal for espresso blends, instant coffee production, and high-performance commercial applications where strength and consistency are critical.
Arabica Varietals (Coffea arabica)
Uganda’s Arabica production is concentrated in high-altitude regions bordering the Rift Valley and Mount Elgon ecosystems. Terra Prime sources and grows:
-
SL14 & SL28 – Valued for structure, sweetness, and balanced acidity
-
Nyasaland (Typica-derived) – Traditional East African varietal with floral and citrus notes
-
Kent – Known for disease tolerance and clean cup profile
Typical Arabica Cup Profile:
Bright citrus acidity, stone fruit, floral aromatics, medium body, clean sweetness.
